Running (away from schoolwork) with scissors
I have to give a presentation in my Spectacle class tomorrow, so what did I do Monday night? Cut my hair, of course! I simply could not carry on with my research and writing until I had bangs. (Wanna see the whole picture? Click here.)
Now I'll tell you the saga of my dad's Double Diamonds socks. The pattern is from an old Beehive booklet, which says I'll need three one-ounce balls of Kroy for a pair of socks. Since a ball of Kroy these days is 1.75 ounces, I bought two balls of a light gray (Flagstone) and got knitting. And I finished the first ball halfway through the first foot.
I attached the second and finished the sock, but then I couldn't find another ball of the same colour at the three different stores I went to. So I ripped back to the end of the first ball and thought I could finish in a darker shade. But that looked bad. But I actually preferred the darker shade (Mercury) to the lighter one, so I bought three balls of it and started again:
Yes, I know I said I wouldn't be knitting, but you didn't think I was going to miss the Oscars, did you? OK, now I really do have to get to work. My presentation tomorrow is on transvestites. I have to start thinking about what I'm going to wear!
