Lucky me
I went out last night to see a show by a little local band you may have heard of, called the Arcade Fire. They played a "secret" show in a church basement, for friends (and, in my case, friends of friends). You can read an account of the show here (or, if you prefer, in French here). They played mostly new stuff; just three songs from Funeral, including "Rebellion (Lies)." (Watch the charming video for that song here.) It was lots of fun. The new album, Neon Bible, will be released March 6, and from the sounds of things last night, it'll be a good one.
Other than that, a pretty quiet weekend. Lots of reading, Indian food with a visiting friend, and a little knitting. I'm adapting Teva Durham's Lace Leaf Pullover to a different gauge. It's a little experimental. (No, I haven't finished Bill's vest or the Trellis sweater. It seems I lose interest in projects when they are 90 percent finished...)

I love Arcade Fire, that sounds great!
Lucky you!!! Little shows like that are the BEST.
A dear friend of mine from work is leaving our company because he's joining the Arcade Fire. How cool is that? I'll miss him, but I'm so excited for him. They're so great.
I look forward to seeing your Teva sweater. I seem to recall that some people had problems with the pattern the way it was written in the book. I'm guessing there are corrections out in blogland.
you are a lucky, lucky brainylady. i heart the mystery that is the arcade fire.
tiny, informal shows like that are the best. especially when it comes to bands that normally play slightly-too-big venues.
WOW! A secret Arcade Fire show! I've heard they are really great live.
I am so jealous I could spit.
Eeek! I'm so jealous!
OOOOH. Fancy! You are definitely way too cool to hang with me but I hope I'll see you anyway one of these days.
they're awesome live aren't they. :) did they each switch to a different instrument for every song and run around switching spots on stage the whole time? that's my favorite part! :)
love the "other than that, quiet weekend..." that's a pretty big other than. :)
Oooh, I'm jealous - love the Arcade Fire. So happy to hear they've got a new album coming out soon. Sounds like a nice weekend.
so jealous! they NEVER come down here in the midwest :(
Good luck with the pullover :) I knit it (in the yarn called for), and it does fit, but I would increase the shoulder stitches to 9 or 11 instead of 7. My shoulders at 7 stitches are all stretched out and weird looking. But the rest of the sweater turned out great for me - no problems with the pattern. And you will be a grafting expert after you're done.
