On December 6, 1989, a young man armed with a semiautomatic assault rifle walked into L'Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal. He had concluded that women/feminists were keeping him from the life he deserved, and he was angry. Within a short period, he murdered fourteen women in the university and shot several others, and then he killed himself. In Canada, today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
