Remember the mystery yarn (May 16)? I knit and washed a swatch, and it shrunk vertically by about 25 percent. I think it might just be good old cotton. Now I'm using it: I'm knitting up a little Haiku, and it is looking really lovely. The mystery yarn is variegated, but it's subtle. The colour ranges from light blue to pale blue, really. Since the sweater is knit from side to side, I'm just making it one-third wider than the pattern calls for, so it should be perfect after shrinkage.
This is mostly a knitting blog.
Maximilian was born on Dec. 10, 2010, so for the time being, I'm busy with him while taking a leave of absence from school.
