Whoosh!
A combination of rain and insomnia has led to plenty of evening and late-night knitting chez Brainy. I've already knit (and blocked) one Grannie Smith sleeve and am on my way through the second one. Of course, it helps that they are three-quarter-length sleeves, but still, lace is speedy!
Mooky and I are off to the vet in an hour. During a screaming middle-of-the-night catfight that took place across three different front yards the night before last, Mooky got slashed through the tongue, of all things. (Please, no "cat got your tongue" comments. Have mercy.) I can't tell the extent of the damage -- ever tried to look inside a cat's mouth? -- but I think at this point all that can be done is a dose of antibiotics. He's been able to slowly eat wet tuna, but a cat that can't lick himself is not a very happy cat. I'll let you know what happens....

Oh no, poor Mooky! Sounds awful.
Grannie Smith is looking lovely, though. :-)
Augh, poor Mooky. I'm so sorry - may he make a speedy recovery.
Your sleeve is gorgeous, LOVE that color -- and can't wait to see the finished piece.
Oh Mooky! Please give him my love (and Moustache sends his love -- in fact, he just came over to the computer while I was typing that).
Granny Smith looks fab so far!
ow. ow. ow. ow. ow. must stop thinking about this. i hope the Mooks is okay soon and heals fast!! Love the sleeve, btw!
Cats do get nasty with each other, don't they? My girl broke one of her fangs in a fight! Hope he heals quickly.
That sleeve looks awesome!
Poor Mooky! That sounds very painful.
the sleeve is beautiful!
hope that Mooky is alright
Sorry to hear about your kitty :( I hope he's fine and will resume to normal grooming soon. it's so hard because they can't tell us when they hurt.
Nice sleeve!
Oh! Poor kitty. That's terrible. I had a cat that got half her ear bitten off once, but it actually grew back. I hope he heals quickly.
The sleeve is beautiful. Smart to start at the sleeves. I lose energy by then.
Oh, poor kitter fuzz. I hope the vet was able to provide some comfort for Mookie.
The sleeve is lovely.
Poor Mooky -- I hope the antibiotics or whatever get his tongue back in action. The sleeve looks lovely!
Oh no, Mooky! I'm crossing my fingers for Mooky that he gets better and will be back to normal licking soon!
oh poor mooky :( but that sleeve is great! i can tell the whole thing will be lovely.
Poor Mooky. I'm never so grateful that our kitty is an indoor cat as I am when I hear about other kitties getting hurt.
Hopefully Mooky will make a fast recovery and go back to licking himself with aplomb.
Aww - I hope Mooky feels better soon!
I love this pattern and your choice of yarn!
Have you had a chance to read the article in the new Vogue Knitting about Canadian designers and yarn companies? I thought it was pretty interesting!
Poor thing! Get better soon Mooky!
Love how that sleeve is looking!
Oh! The poor kitty! Hope the antibiotics help. How awful!
My four furry beasts (and me) send "Get Well Soon" vibes to the Mookster.
Oh, dear kitty boy! That's a heck of a place for a slashing. I'm even tucking my tongue back in oogy-ness.
Hope all is well by now - at least that your fur boy is on the mend.
Aw, poor little Mook. Hope he's feeling better soon.
That sleeve looks great. Can't wait to see more of this project.
Best wishes to Mooky.
