Destination: Rhinebeck

Finished Woodland Shawl to wear to Rhinebeck? Check! I didn't get around to blocking it until yesterday afternoon. I blocked it on my bed, but it wasn't going to be dry by bedtime; at 10 p.m. I was in there blow-drying my shawl. Anyway, it's done, and it's gorgeous, and I love it. Details again:

Pattern: Woodland Shawl by Nikol Lohr
Yarn: 2 skeins Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Solid (colour: teal green)
Needle: 3.75mm circular
Finished size: approximately 20 inches x 68 inches

OK, time to go! If you're going to Rhinebeck this weekend and you see me, say hello. If you're not going to Rhinebeck, have a lovely weekend wherever you are!

I finished my Rhinebeck sweater, but now it's going to be 70F/20C! :( Maybe you can drape the shawl over your arm for dramatic effect and to avoid overheating?

Akk I'm so far behind on my blog reading! Happy belated birthday! Also, the knits (and crochets) of the last little while look great! I have already bookmarked the dishcloth and shell stitch blanket, and am greatly admiring your lacy teal-ness. I wish I'd read the post earlier about the glasses, I would have sent you over to my dad's place. In any case, the ones you picked look great too. I'm glad you went with the anti-coatings. Make sure you write down somewhere what date you bought the glasses, as all coatings have a 1 year, some a 2 year or more warranty. If anything happens to the coating in that time, bubbles, scratches, yellowing, ANYTHING, it is the store's responsibility to send them back and get you a new set.

oh, and I LOVE the quilts! I used to watch a TV show about quilting and they did this cool technique where you lay dark yarn under a pale fabric and stitch around it to make 3d raised images. I keep meaning to try it one day. Is hand quilting hard?

The colour and pattern of your shawl is absolutely perfect for fall! I am seriously considering this for my first lace project. I like that the pattern is all in words as opposed to a chart. I am not really sure how to read a chart yet. Now I need yarn!

Gorgeous shawl, and fantastic color! I saw you at Rhinebeck, but I was not up to date on my blogs so I didn't think it was you! Hope you had a great there- weather was perfect (minus the brief gusts of winds). Maybe I will catch you at it next year.

Goooorgeous!

I love the shape of your shawl, I've never really loved the look of triangular shawls-- this would be much more my style!

And the color is beautiful as well--

Bravo!

I don't knit at all, but I do have knitter envy. Your blue shawl is beautiful. You're inspiring.

I've already lusted over it on Flickr, but I LOVE this shawl! Like, I want to snuggle up to my monitor every time I see it. I definitely need to make some cozy shawls with sock yarn instead of laceweight.
