Massive night

We went to see The Hold Steady play last night (at Sala Rossa), and it was fan-tastic. Other than the handful of overenthusiastic superfans who seem to have travelled from Toronto just to stand right at the front and scream every single lyric back into Craig Finn's face, it was just a great, great show. Well worth today's temporary deafness.

i have definitely found that there are a lot of boys who are both a) drunk and b) extremely knowledgeable of the lyrics at Hold Steady concerts.

in fact, I'd say I spend a lot of time at their concerts looking around saying "wow, it's unusual to find more boys singing along than girls."

i wonder if that Toronto superfan was single... ha ha ha :)

Seeing them at First Ave in Minneapolis was one of the best shows I've been to in my entire life, hands down.

Still haven't gotten around to seeing them, but they've been on just about every mix CD I've made in the last year. They're awesome.

I was at the Muse show on Monday and it was the same deal - an audience of mostly guys screaming all the lyrics word for word.

Couple more Hold Steady links for you. :)

I picked up the CD based on Cari's recommendation, too. I love it.

I just read you post about the socks (which are lovely!). Here's a hint when you are choosing colours hold them side by side and squint. Colours of with the same value will blend together and colours of different values won't.

Crap!! I somehow was in Montreal and forgot that you now live in Montreal and didn't do anything smart like TELL YOU I WAS THERE. I did, however, see a show at Sala Rossa. That made me pleased.
