Submit

1. (transitive verb) to present or propose to another for review, consideration, or decision; to deliver formally
2. (intransitive verb) to yield oneself to the authority or will of another (syn. surrender); to permit oneself to be subjected to something

On Tuesday afternoon, I will submit (def. 1) my written comps to the department office. Only then can I submit (def. 2) to the temptation from all treats that have been showing up on my doorstep this past week, the results of the previous week's stress shopping. But I am weak! And that's why Bill is hiding a book of Evelyn Clark's shawl patterns and all the yarn for the Butterscotch Cardigan in his office. It's for my own good.

I did, however, allow myself to open two packages last week, on the condition that I only look and not touch (well, not fondle excessively).

Hubba hubba. OK, back to ideology. And so, like the '80s new wave band, 'til Tuesday!

Good luck getting your comps ready for tuesday.

Do you tend to buy more when you're stressed? I know I do. Recently I purchased the Alabama Stitch book, which I'm trying to hide from myself (ha!) until I finish writing a long-overdue paper.

Good luck with the Tuesday submission! I'm like Lori Z - I totally buy yarn when I'm stressed/overworked. It brings instant calm to me to think of that day when I can just sit & knit.

Ooh, you're going to have so much fun with that other "submission" too ;)

Excellent! Tuesday is also Scout's birthday, so it's a day of good omen.

How much do I love that there's someone out there called the Yarn Chef?

Wow. Yarn Chef has some pretty tasty yarns. I'm not sure I'd be able to stop myself from just petting the yarn constantly.
